Another reason that opting out is lame

A recent article in the Minnesota Monitor, “Facebook’s Beacon Sparks Privacy Complaints from Users,” relates the story of a Facebook user whose online purchase of movie tickets through Fandango sparked a message to all his friends. The Facebook response? “Facebook says its users can “opt out” of having their private purchases reported to the world.”
